The membership of Appalachian Partnership Inc. (API) is composed of Business Leaders who have significantly invested in the mission of API. All members have a seat on API’s Board of Directors and elect an Executive Committee which oversees the day to day administrative functions of the organization.

Qualifications for membership include:

  • Connection to the Region: A member must either:
    • Originally be from or currently reside in Appalachian Ohio, or
    • Work for or have ownership interest in a business with a substantial business presence in Appalachian Ohio
  • Investment in API: A member must make a significant financial investment in the work of API in an amount determined from time to time by a two-thirds vote of API’s Members,
  • Commitment to the Region: A member must commit to work with other Members to advance the mission of API – “to build enduring, widely-shared prosperity across Appalachian Ohio by building the private sector business economy and organizing a strong business voice for issues impacting the region’s economy.”

Members of API set the mission and direction for the organization, approve and support major program initiatives, consider and adopt policy positions that advance API’s mission, serve on committees to advance important work of API, advocate for policy that advances prosperity of the region and have overall authority and oversight responsibility for API’s governance and operations.
